The STS Group, is a stock listed, globally leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries headquartered in France. The Adler Pelzer Group, a global Tier 1 supplies recently acquired STS group to expand its target market. STS is pioneering operations of Class A surface components for the heavy trucks in the USA. We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead the launch of a brand new STS facility near Salem, Virginia.

The Plant Manager will work closely with a launch team from our France, Mexico and Michigan locations to ensure a successful launch of a new manufacturing facility of class A exterior surfaces for heavy trucks.

​

The Plant Manager will be based out of the Virginia facility. This role will require some initial travel for pre-launch activities. Relocation to Virginia is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities of the Plant Manager:

  • Responsible for launching a brand new plant producing parts for customers while overseeing and leading plant finance, manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality, human resources, and information systems.

  • Elaborate and Manage Plant budget, meeting financial EBITDA and P&L goals

  • Develop a Plant Team stable, motivated and committed to accomplish the tasks, prioritizing tasks with the company’s best interest in mind.

  • Manage Plant manufacturing, meeting Operations' KPIs goals by reviewing on going performance results to targets, taking corrective action, implementing and measuring results.

  • Troubleshoot with the team all production and maintenance issues and immediately enacts contingency plans as needed.

  • Establish standards and controls while maintaining optimum production and utilization of human resources.

  • Boost Continuous Improvement with the implementation of Lean Manufacturing by the use of measurable standards, realistic goals and accountability for improvement

  • Ensure the Plant comply with Company's Safety Policies, Internal Controls, Legal and Customer Requirements.

Education

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.

​

Experience

  • 5-7 years: Some experience with and knowledge of SMC (sheet molding compound), plastics, polymers, paint, class A / exterior surfaces, and/or thermoset or thermoplastic

  • 5-7 years: Strong leadership skills to motivate and support team

  • 7-10 years: Knowledge of P&L statements and the ability to understand accounting statements in order to maintain a profitable operation

  • 7-10 years: Technical Background - Engineering, Maintenance, Industrialization

  • 7-10 years: Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes to include all functions from raw materials to finished goods, as well as equipment and machinery.

  • 7-10 years: Professional experience in the Plant Management, Operations and/or Engineering fields in the Automotive Tier 1 Supplier industry
